HOW IT WORKS

How to Reorder Pages in a PDF

Three simple steps — every action runs in your browser instantly.

1

Upload your PDF

Drop your PDF onto the upload area or click to browse. Page thumbnails appear within seconds — even for large files. The PDF stays in your browser memory and is never sent to any server.

2

Drag pages to reorder

Drag any page thumbnail to its new position. Hover over a page to access the delete and rotate buttons. Use the toolbar buttons to reverse all pages, undo, or redo your changes.

3

Save your reordered PDF

Type a custom filename (optional) and click Save & Download. The reordered PDF is built in your browser using pdf-lib and downloads instantly — with zero quality loss.

FEATURES

Everything you need to organize PDF pages

Drag-and-drop reordering

Click any page thumbnail and drag it to a new position. The other pages shuffle around it instantly. Works smoothly on desktop and touchscreen.

Delete unwanted pages

Hover over any page and click the red × button to remove it. Removed pages can always be restored with Undo — accidental deletions are easy to recover from.

Rotate individual pages

Click the rotate icon to rotate any page 90 degrees clockwise. Click multiple times to reach 180° or 270°. Each page rotates independently — perfect for fixing sideways scans.

Unlimited Undo & Redo

Every action — drag, delete, rotate, reverse — is tracked in history. Press Undo as many times as needed to step back, then Redo to step forward.

Zero quality loss

Pages are copied directly from the source PDF using pdf-lib's copyPages method. Fonts, images, vector graphics, hyperlinks, and form fields are all preserved exactly.

100% Private

Your PDF never leaves your browser. pdf.js renders thumbnails locally, pdf-lib builds the output locally — no server processing, no upload, no privacy risk.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I reorder pages in a PDF for free?
Upload your PDF using the drop zone above. Each page renders as a thumbnail in a grid. Click and drag any page to a new position to rearrange — the rest of the pages shuffle around automatically. When you're done, click Save & Download to get your reordered PDF. Completely free, no sign-up required.
Will reordering pages reduce the PDF quality?
No. The tool uses pdf-lib's copyPages method, which copies the underlying page streams byte-for-byte from the source PDF without any re-rendering or recompression. Embedded fonts, high-resolution images, vector graphics, hyperlinks, and form fields are all preserved exactly as in the original.
Can I delete pages from a PDF here?
Yes. Hover over any page thumbnail and click the red × button in the top-right corner to delete it. The page is removed from the working set but the original PDF on your device is unchanged. If you delete a page by mistake, click Undo in the toolbar to restore it.
How do I rotate a single page in a PDF?
Hover over the page you want to rotate and click the blue rotate icon. The page rotates 90 degrees clockwise. Click again for 180°, again for 270°, and again to return to 0°. Each page rotates independently — useful for fixing scans where some pages were oriented differently.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. Two libraries run entirely in your browser: pdf.js renders the page thumbnails using a Web Worker, and pdf-lib builds the output PDF. Your file stays in your browser's memory throughout the process and is never transmitted to, stored on, or seen by any server.
How many pages can the tool handle?
There is no hard limit on the number of pages. The tool handles PDFs with hundreds of pages — performance depends on your device's available memory. For very large PDFs (200+ pages or 100MB+), thumbnails render progressively, allowing you to start working immediately while the rest load in the background.
Can I undo my changes if I make a mistake?
Yes. Every action — drag-reorder, delete, rotate, reverse — is tracked in history. Click Undo in the toolbar to step backwards through your changes. Click Redo to step forwards. There is no limit on how many times you can undo. The Reset button removes all changes at once and returns to the original page order.
